Wendell Harris: LEE High School’s New Head Football Coach

Wendell Harris, after leading the Burbank football team for three seasons, has now been chosen as the head coach for the LEE football team.

The North East ISD gave the green light to Wendell Harris’s hiring during their usual school board meeting on Monday night. Wendell Harris: LEE High School’s New Head Football Coach.

Harris replaces Danny Kloza, who announced his retirement in February after leading his alma mater for 13 seasons. Harris inherits a program that has not made the playoffs since 1993 and has not had a winning season since 2015.

Under Harris’s guidance, the Bulldogs achieved a 7-4 record in 2022 and made their first playoff appearance since 2019. During his three years at Burbank, Harris had a 14-13 record. He served as Burbank’s defensive coordinator from 2018 until his promotion in 2020.
