72 Delaware High School Football Players Gear Up for the Blue-Gold Game
The player line-up for the 67th DFRC Blue-Gold All-Star football game has been announced. This exciting event, scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023 at Delaware Stadium, will showcase 72 of Delaware’s finest senior players in their last high school game.
The game also highlights the heartwarming Hand-in-Hand Buddies program, where children and young adults with intellectual disabilities form friendships with players, cheerleaders, band members, and school ambassadors participating in the game.
The annual Blue-Gold game’s proceeds go towards supporting the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with intellectual disabilities. Jody Russell from Newark will lead the Blue team, comprising players from northern Delaware, with assistance from Jordan Biscoe, Darren Brodie, Tyran Rice (Newark), Dan Ritter (Howard), and Chet Walters (Conrad).
Brian Timpson of Appoquinimink heads the Gold team, featuring players from areas below the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal and Red Lion Christian. Assisting him will be Frank Clark, Paul Frame, Kurt von Brandt (Appoquinimink), Mark Quillin (Seaford), and Marvin Dooley (Woodbridge).
