Celebrating Football Greats: John “ShowBoat” Crowell and Class of 2023 Inducted into the High School Football Hall of Fame

Exciting news for football fans! The late John “ShowBoat” Crowell, who was a football sensation at Jeannette High School in the 1930s, is set to be celebrated on a national stage. This Jeannette hero has been selected for the newly formed National High School Football Hall of Fame Induction 2023, an honor he will share with several renowned football figures.

The induction ceremony will take place on July 30 at Canton McKinley High School in Ohio. It promises to be an event filled with football greats, including the recently passed Jim Brown, the Manning brothers – Peyton, Eli and Cooper, and their father Archie Manning, coach Paul Brown, and Bernie Kosar.

While Canton McKinley will serve as the temporary location for the Hall of Fame, there are grand plans in place to construct a state-of-the-art multimillion-dollar facility in the future.

John “ShowBoat” Crowell’s legacy continues with his grandson, LaMont “Showboat” Robinson, another Jeannette High School alum, who is making his mark as the founder and CEO of the National High School Football Hall of Fame. LaMont isn’t just a football enthusiast; he’s also a recognized name in the comedy basketball circuit and a proud member of the American Basketball Hall of Fame.
