Mantanzas has decided to part ways with Ben White, their head coach, in less than two months since he was appointed to the position.

High school football in Florida is unlike any other state in the country. It has become a year-round sport, with training and preparation happening all year long. However, it’s not just the players who have to stay on top of their game – head coaching positions are constantly changing, leading to a lot of transitions.

This off-season, Florida has seen a significant amount of turnover in head coaching positions. Here is a rundown of some of the changes that have taken place throughout the state.

Sanford Seminole Has Selected Karl Calhoun as Their New Head Coach

When Eric Lodge left his position as head coach to take a job in South Carolina, it seemed like Sanford Seminole might be in trouble. However, the school didn’t have to search far to find their next leader. In fact, they recently announced that Karl Calhoun, an alumnus of the school, would be taking over as the new head coach at Seminole.

Karl Calhoun, the new head coach at Seminole, was once a player for the school from 2009 to 2012. During his time on the varsity team, he made 104 tackles as a linebacker. After graduating from Seminole, Calhoun went on to play college football at Virginia Union University.
