Alberto Cordero, a coach with extensive experience in various roles, has been named head football coach at his alma mater, Wilbur Cross. Cordero’s career includes stints at some of the state’s largest programs, such as UConn, Central Connecticut State, and Sacred Heart. Despite his wide-ranging experience, this marks his first time as a head coach.

Cordero is eager to give back to the place that helped build his foundation as a player and coach, stating that winning on the field would be a byproduct of the team doing the small things well. Over the years, he has worked under numerous coaches, and he appreciates the opportunities and support he has received from them.
In addition to coaching, Cordero runs a content creation business, producing videos and graphics for various clients, including Notre Dame-West Haven and Yale University. He will continue managing his business while coaching the Governors, as multitasking has been a significant part of his coaching journey.
