Members of the Gridiron Club, the booster club in question, noticed some inconsistencies in their financial records and decided to confront Coach Carter.
David Felt, who leads the Gridiron Club, stated that Carter confessed to borrowing the money and returned it when the club’s board members confronted him. However, Felt chose not to reveal specific details about the amount involved or when it was taken.
Felt clarified that the Gridiron Club is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to nurturing and financially supporting the ADM football program. He also verified that Carter has now stepped down from his role within the Gridiron Club.
On Tuesday, ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe issued the following statement to Local reporter :
“I can confirm that Mr. Carter resigned his employment with the school district, but by law, the district cannot comment on confidential personnel matters. For clarity, the district is considered separate from the Gridiron Club.”
Carter made the decision to resign as ADM’s head football coach on May 12. During his announcement, he expressed a desire to devote more time to his family and prioritize his mental wellbeing.

Carter took the helm as ADM’s head football coach in 2018, triggering a revival in the team’s performance. Under his guidance, the team clinched 10 victories last season, even making a deep run into the state semifinals.
Despite the recent turmoil, Carter has found a fresh start. According to the Creston School District, he’s all set to begin a new teaching contract starting from July 1.
